The Night Before – A Multidimensional Crossroads
Last night I found myself at one of those life transition points, with a head full of more questions than answers, you could say I arrived at a crossroads of sorts, a still yet busy point between many journeys ends and new/rekindled beginnings.
Only this intersection definitely felt like it consisted of more than four intersecting paths, and in truth probably spanned multiple dimensions of complexity…
So what does one do such moments? I personally like to explore divination (@todo link to wiki my philosophy on what it means to me and how it serves creative process), so I turned my attention to the Tarot which I find evokes many creative and interesting insights which my otherwise logical mind has a hard time avoiding 😉
Now, what happens next is pretty interesting, I do a handful of short spreads (one, three, or four cards) on some general themes such as life path, music/art projects, relationships etc, with a little specific detail of what’s been ‘up and hot recently’, AND literally the moon shows up in EVERY single reading!
The moon lights us along the path of mystic enlightenment to which the seventeenth arcanum (the Star) has led us. It is still endangered by magic and imagination until the SUN (nineteenth arcanum) opens up the KING’S HIGHWAY of enlightenment and objectivity – Dictionary of Symbols
When this kind of synchronicity happens it tends to get my attention, you know what are the chances, really?
So I go to sleep with the question on my mind “what are your intuitive feelings and dreams telling you at this time?”
AND, the nights dreams are almost one continuous energised charged watery sense of flow, neither good nor bad just intense and constant. Again, very interesting 🙂
This Morning – Moon Fascination
The morning arrives, this morning, and the ever the curious and eclectic, I feel compelled to explore more deeply the symbolism of The Moon…
Before jumping out of bed I reach across for my trusty book of symbolism — which interestingly I purchased ages and ages ago as a kid diving tentatively into the vast ocean of creative potential called songwriting. Little did I know at that time how much rich mythic detail was/is contained within this unassuming compact tome of a thing!
I became drawn to this notion of The Dark Moon, perhaps it’s because one of my favourite albums ever is Pink Floyds classic, and perhaps it’s because I’m cosmically aligned to and aware of the subtle (and not so subtle) undercurrents of archetypal flows of energy, who knows?
But this concept of The Dark Moon ‘popped out’, and I’ve learned to trust and respect this sort of intuitive popping out, as it tends to have uncanny wisdom and logic to it, as foreign as that can seem to our intellects, this subtle language of ‘the energy mind’ (@TODO link to wiki – brief description and mention of genius symbols ) knows stuff beyond normal sensory reasoning.
Positive Astrology & Interpretation
Now before we dive deeper into some insights I want to share my personal position on these things, ie how we interpret symbols, and especially drawing our attention to the legacy of previous ages which I believe has primed our minds/bodies/lives with ‘negativity bias’ — an excess of negative contemplation and spin, leading to an imbalance of how we relate to and use the archetypal realm.
I’m not saying it’s all roses, Though it can be! And before we experience that reality we’re probably going to have to pass through the temporary phases of grime and bullshit that any blossoming rose has to go through in order to ‘break free’ into it’s fullness.
So, looking at the recent astrological setup of The Dark Moon we get…
When you combine the energies of Lilith and Sagittarius, you get an intense desire to get to the truth of matters, and not just any truth – this is the search for the dark, ugly truth. This is a willing if not eager dive into the dark truths of people, situations, establishments, and pretty much anything else that has a hidden truth to reveal or have exposed.
In other words, if you’ve been hiding it, get ready for it to come out into the open. – lifebysoul
Songwriting can often feel like this, sure there is a lightness to it, a guiding light of inspiration throughout, but in truth it takes you inevitably and inescapably into the darker truths and helps make them more palpable, more digestible, which is really a very healing process for artists and audiences alike.
Comics are another prime conduit and living (hopefully funny) example of directly/indirectly exposing lunacy and bullshit. I really enjoy characters like Bill Hicks and Russell Brand who are highly charged with this capacity and purpose to directly expose!
The beauty at the end of the dark journey is lightness, is rebirth in new shiny naked skin. This is essentially the promise and actuality as we embrace the dark, embrace it to acknowledge, process and ultimately overcome it once and for all.
One day we’ll be truly DONE in all of this, and it will be glorious!
The day of reckoning already shines brightly and ever undimmed in it’s own domain, waiting for us to rediscover it’s eternal qualities, only the backlog of BS we insistently carry forward obscures it from us…
How we relate to and use the archetypal energies — largely unconsciously and like most other things without question as we were TOLD to by others who we TOLD the same — is a large part of this ‘backlog of BS’ which holds us back from fresh knowing currency of being.
Learning the true and direct nature of the Archetypes, though not something I confess to fully understand yet myself I feel is fundamentally important to everything else, we literally have to open to a real and live relationship with these expansive qualities of our own being — and the nature of the world — in order to move to the next level.
We’ve literally been cutting a pasting all manner of legacy material upon the pure presence of inner light and it’s kin, and of course none of this shoddy material stands up, not for long. This is great news by the way, it shows us that ultimately something inside of us can never be dimmed, or obscured, that the best the darkness (essentially unresolved) can do is feed of the periphery light and never the heart of light, it simply cannot taint it, the world, you, I in our essence.
In the end the journey of the dark is pure surrender, THEN in an instant, no matter how dark, how far gone, how persistent in it’s old mode, the darkness collapses in it’s entire frame into brilliant light itself, then it gets to enter.
